Serialization Symposium 2017 Recap: Topics and Insights
More than 170 top-level international pharmaceutical company, CMO, NVS and EMVO representatives met on the 5th Serialization Symposium in Berlin, jointly organized by Arvato and WIPOTEC-OCS, to discuss and exchange experiences on serialization and Track & Trace projects in the healthcare industry.
Expert presentations and discussions unveiled top success factors and challenges of serialization programs. Specifically, the presenters spoke about serialization project pitfalls and how to avoid them, shared success stories and experiences on turning serialization into a strategic competitive advantage for healthcare companies. CMO representatives detailed on how to integrate serialization equipment into production floors, shared practical tips on staff training, creating project teams, equipment selection and standardization. The participants also spoke about the role of Track and Trace for supply chain control and its future perspectives.
Industry experts covered topics starting from Level 1 solutions up to Level 5, forming the big picture and featuring the latest developments in these solution areas. Live demonstration of the latest serialization equipment and data exchange with the Level 3 site software provided real live experience and better understanding of the system operation and functions. NVS and EMVO representatives from Austria, UK, France and Finland talked about EU-Hub and National Verification Systems and special requirements for different stakeholder groups. They provided essential information on legal updates in the respective European countries.
The 5th Serialization Symposium proved to be an effective and important event for all serialization stakeholders.
